It’s Time to Have ‘The Talk’

I recently received a phone call from a childhood friend asking for advice concerning her mother. I have received calls such as this for many years—in part because I have worked in the field of aging services for 40-plus years.

Transformation, Not Will Power

Caring for aging parents is a labor of love. Our parents have given so much of themselves to us and it gives us great pleasure to give of ourselves to them as they grow older. It may require great sacrifice on our part, but we are more than willing to give our parents the assistance they need. We would not have it any other way.

One benefit to retirement is a senior's ability to focus on activities they may not have had as much time for previously. Golf, ceramics, travel and gardening are just some of the possible undertakings that retired people can enjoy.
