Advent Christian Village’s (ACV) annual health fair to promote wellness in the Suwannee Valley will be March 23. A variety of organizations including Division of Blind Services, Haven Hospice and Three Rivers Legal Services will provide the latest educational information on matters of health and wellness from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Phillips Center at ACV.
Health screenings offered by various area health providers are one of the most popular benefits of the health fair. Also popular is the free continental breakfast from 9:30–10:30 that morning. Perhaps most crowd-pleasing are the door prizes and giveaways contributed by participating organizations.
The annual health and wellness fair impacts the county, as area agencies recognize this type of event as a great way to meet the community, get the word out about their services and to promote good health and wellness.
Wesley and Judy Willard, two Suwannee County residents who attend the health fair each year, remarked that the fair is good because it helps them to know what agencies are around and what is available to them.
Dr. Debra Griffin of Hearing Solutions, Inc. says, “I love the energy and excitement in Dowling Park. They have a zest for life.” Dr. Griffin was very pleased with the large turn out and the number of existing and potential clients who visited her during the event last year.
Since wellness is a focus of Advent Christian Village, the annual health fair is a priority, because it brings good information directly to the hands of Suwannee Valley residents.
