The second Live! at Dowling Park Artist Series concert takes place on Monday, Sept. 18. You are invited to an evening of beautiful and inspiring chamber music by the San Marco Chamber Music Society, performing a number of pieces on string instruments and oboe.
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, four of the five members of the San Marco Chamber Music Society are currently members of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra; the fifth is an associate professor of cello at the University of North Florida. The group is named for San Marco, the Jacksonville neighborhood in which the group first performed together at a benefit for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The group performs seasonally at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, featuring mostly a flexible line-up of musicians from the symphony orchestra, but also some non-orchestra friends. While these concerts are free, donations are accepted and given to JDRF. The San Marco Chamber Music Society performs a varied and eclectic mix of music featuring everything from tuba to harp to percussion, as well as its core instrumentalists.
We invite you to come see the San Marco Chamber Music Society Monday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m. at The Village Church. The cost is $17 for adults (ACV members and staff receive a discount), $7 for students, and no charge for children not yet in school.
Visit Artist Series or call (386) 658-5557 for more details.
